An MHK’s motion to Tywnald is being put to the public vote online – before next week’s sitting of parliament.

Kate Beecroft is asking the court to support a call for the Manx political system to be made compulsory in schools from age 14.

The suggestion comes from the Lib Van leader’s intern local student Patrick Vernon.

He’s posted the motion on a new website and is gathering both comments and votes, for and against.

The motion was voted on in the final sitting of Tynwald but regretfully did not receive the required number of votes to be successful

Patrick says he wants to promote the testing of political ideas online
